Let’s be better! Isn’t that the most obsessive wish we hear the most often, during the winter holidays? So what, might some some say? The holidays passed and the people who don’t have this habit can return to their mundane lives, because we are living in this world, not the other. So they start to hatefully spit sharp and heavy words, despising looks and elbows moved actively.
Don’t get me wrong, but it is the only day of the year when they can reach the barrels with… Great Holy Water and they need to make room in order to fill their purses or their bags with bottles full of holy water. Nothing unusual in this story that we keep rediscovering every year, in the yards of churches, but especially on the sea shore. Some believers simply like hustling and stepping on each other.
The same thing happened this year too. Even if at the beginning of the Epiphany sermon people were patient and left the impression that they can respect some common sense rules, the end was the same, with hustling and pushing.
We had a chance this year, that we, however, wasted. During the pandemic we could see another type of image, with people that prove they are civilized, respectful, compassionate, empathic, kind and… even that they had faith, that we should also keep afterwards.
But how can you see such a change when the clerics themselves with ÎPS Teodosie, Archbishop of Tomis in the front defies the law and authorities instigate the believers to disobedience for months?
